Vakfiye Title deed of endowment of a vakif.  
vakıf A religious/charitable foundation (created by an endowed trust fund).
In English, 'waqf' or 'wakf'.
A grant of land or other source of revenue given in mortmain for pious or charitable purposes.
vakıf A creator of charitable foundations called vakıf (in Turkish) and 'waqf' or 'wakf' (in English).  
valiA governor of a province, a viceroy. 
valide alay The cortege that accompanies the mother of the new sultan to the Imperial Residence.  
Valide (or Valide Sultan, Sultana Valide) "Royal mother" The mother of the reigning Sultan.

Minister of the sultan and member of the imperial council (divan), the elite ruling body of the Ottoman Empire. Vizier was the highest rank in the military/administrative hierarchy of the empire; At most times, there were up to 4 such ministers, but one, the Grand Vizier, was senior in rank and power to the others.
