-cı, -ci, -cu, -cü (and -çı, -çi, -çu, -çü) | When these suffixes are attached to nouns, the newly formed words become new nouns that usually (though not always) designate a person's profession, his/her [place of] business, occupation, personal pursuit, or pastime activity.
Note: Occasionally, these suffixes are also added to adjectives or adverbs -- to produce new nouns with 'occupational' meaning. For example: eski old eskici junkman, rag-and-bone-man
Exception arising from ordinal numbers (birinci, ikinci, üçüncü, etc...):
Although altın means gold, altıncı does not mean goldsmith. It means sixth. (The meaning of goldsmith is altın kuyumcusu.)
